The principal purpose of collection is for the conduct of our business.
PGG is involved primarily in the purchase, storage, preparation and sale of grain, seeds and livestock feed, licensing of plant breeders rights, wool, livestock, cotton and real estate. PGG is also involved in a wide range of other areas within the agribusiness sector including but not limited to the distribution of agricultural chemicals and fertilisers, merchandising, transport services, research and development, agronomy, risk analysis, insurance and financial services.
What personal information do we collect, use and disclose?
PGG only collects such personal information as is necessary for the principal purpose of conducting its business.
PGG in the course of its business collects a range of personal information from our growers, customers, prospective customers, contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers, distributers, manufacturers, clients, referrers, introducers, agents, service providers and employees. This will include, amongst other things, their full name, their email addresses, mailing and residential addresses, business and home phone numbers and any other details given to us in the course of conducting our business.
PGG does not obtain any information about an individual’s membership of a professional or trade association or any other sensitive information without an individual’s express consent.
What will PGG be using the personal information for?
PGG will be using the personal information for the principal purpose of conducting its business. This will involve things such as managing our commercial relationships with others, performing administrative functions, informing customers and others about our products and services by direct marketing methods, market research, collecting end-point royalties, building and maintaining business relationships, implementing our communication model and complying with legal requirements.
In terms of any direct marketing communications (via emails, post, fax, telephone, sms or any other means) PGG offers all individuals with the opportunity to unsubscribe from receiving that material.
How does PGG collect and store the information?
PGG endeavors to collect personal information about an individual from that individual wherever it is reasonable and practicable to do so. This may be by sources such as registration forms, contact forms, quotation forms, letters, emails, websites, receipts, invoices, surveys, telephone conversations and attendance at events.
Individuals engaging in business with PGG are made aware that their private information is being recorded and stored and for what purposes it will be used. In entering into business with PGG and filling out the requisite registration forms, those individuals consent to the use and disclosure of that information in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Policy.
In certain limited circumstances, PGG might source a database of farmer contacts from another agricultural provider for business purposes.

Personal information will be stored electronically on a database. Access to the database is limited to PGG personnel and protected by password.
Disclosure of the personal information to third parties
PGG will occasionally be required to provide personal information to third parties including but not limited to plant breeder right licensors, seed breeders and their professional service providers, related body corporates of PGG, grower associations, financial institutions, insurers, credit providers and credit reporting agencies, joint venturers and our service providers.
PGG require third parties to adhere to strict confidentiality requirements and also seek to ensure that they adhere to the NPP’s. PGG is also required to disclose information to third parties for reporting purposes or where we are legally compelled to do so.
Accuracy and security of information
PGG takes all reasonable steps to ensure that the accuracy of personal information collected, used or disclosed by us is accurate, complete and up to date. You have the right to ensure all personal information we retain is correct. PGG will correct inaccurate information when identified and verified.
PGG takes all reasonable steps to ensure that information held is safe and secure, and that it is protected from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. PGG also takes all reasonable steps to ensure that personal information is only used by employees or disclosed to other organisations to the extent necessary for our business purposes.
Destruction and de-identification of personal information
PGG will take reasonable steps to de-identify or destroy personal information when it is not longer needed for any purpose consistent with the NPP’s, as reasonably decided by PGG from time to time.
